Thankyou TWC for now pissing off your employees by wanting to change their work schedules. Now they arent going to be happy when they come to our instal or service my services. no wonder people switch to grande or someone else. Keep it up...and the good field technicians will leave, and willbe employed by someone else and loving their job.

time warner sucks in charlotte nc too. had no internet access this morning for 4 hours. system wide i was told. asked for credit-NOPE, cant do that..

customer service is sophomoric at best. i can only assume they pay their employees squat. i have never had such poor service in product and customer service in my life. signed up for uverse today. more service for half the price. time warner is already looking bad on the dow jones.. shut them down! do not use time warner services.. i'd rather stand on my roof holding aluminum foil to get service for tv. time warner is poorly run company. oh, and if you call in and choose option as existing customer, just lay the phone down and run the vacuum and do a load of laundry, you wont be helped soon if at all. if you choose new customer you get right thru.

I am a 20 year resident of Austin. I repeatedly have had multiple issues from service to support to price increases. I finally threatened to cancel service at the last increase as well as poor service, while no longer being under contract with them. They lowered my rates from $125 a month to $89 a month for the same service to keep me as a customer rather than me leaving. . Just a note for all not under there 2 year contract. That was for all 3 services, high speed, digital phone, and extended basic with DVR.
If it makes anyone feel any better though, I recently purchased a second home in Beaumont Tx, and made the mistake of taking "advantage" of their new bundling plans. Service is much worse here as well as technology. Poor customer service and lengthy phone calls when support is needed, Although it took only moments to get through to a new service representative when signing up. What a mistake ! Oh and i called back to have a DVR installed which I originally ordered yet they brought just a normal cable box, I was told there would be another $30 charge to exchange and an additional $12 per month. A charge I am now paying monthly which they claim is standard for the cable box I have. I was told that I misunderstood the service rep when I signed up that the current charges I am paying for this dinosaur box was correct and was what I signed up for. I still am amazed they even have anything but a DVR box with aany cable service. I don't know for a fact, but amPretty sure any new subscribers in Austin don't even have the option of anything less than a DVR.
And yes, I agree obviously no TW reps read or care about these postings as I have expressed my opinions of how poorly they handle their current customers verbally over the phone.

We have had Time Warner internet for about 7 years and have never really had a complaint until now. We have always had the fastest service available and whenever a newer faster service came out, we upgraded. Besides the random service blackouts that could never be explained, everything usually ran perfect. Recently there was a screw up on our account. We have the 30mb service and I usually do speed tests once a week or atleast every other week. Usually the results are from 30mbps to 50mbps. This last time it read 14.5mbps 6 times in a row. I reset the modem as well as the router and the computer and retried the test... same result. I called customer support and was told that my account was limited to 15mbps.... wow... news to me... we have been paying for the 30mbps service for 4 years. After checking our account, they confirmed that we were on the 30mbps plan. They could not figure out who made the change or why (shocker). After several attempts to fix the issue, the fastest speed I could get was 19.45... They claimed that my modem was unable to run at the 30mbps speed and that they would need to come out and install THEIR modem. I told them they were full of crap. I had purchaseda new modem 7 months previous to replace our old one and the speed tests went from 23mbps to 53mbps and the new modem ran perfect and faster than our last one. I said "WOW" that is funny, the modem has been running fine for 7 months and now all of the sudden, magically it wont work? They tried to tell me it was incompatible. After 7 months of clocking atleast 40 to 50mbps on every test, it maxes out at 19.45 now. They kept giving me the run around to the point I was so furiously pissed off, I gave up dealing with the morons in customer service, and old them we would look for other service.

I called in to get the pin so we could purchase a movie. Their representative set the code and told me to punch it in. I did that. It locked me out for an hour. I asked them to reset it so it would work and they said, No. You have to wait an hour. I sat on hold waiting for 23 minutes for a supervisor and finally gave up. I called back and got nowhere. They couldn't understand I punched in the number they gave me. It was their fault. Not even an apology. So I wasted 90 minutes talking to them and being locked out.

Many years ago Time Warner seemed to be better but for a long while now they have really sucked. It's not just Austin, either. I moved to Charlotte, NC for a while and experienced continuous problems mostly with the cable service. The screen had continuous macroblocking or pixelation as well as sound interruption. This made the cable service virtually worthless and it always seemed to act up at the worst times. You couldn't even use the DVR because it just records that whole macroblocking mess which is pointless. I must have had a dozen technicians out to my condo to address the issue and they NEVER got it fixed in the year I was there.

I moved back to Austin and since I have been back for the last 3+ years I have had the EXACT same problem here in Austin. I go for short periods of time where the picture is ok but then it always goes back to the macroblocking and sound cutting out or picture and sound freezing up completely. I have had technicians out continuously but they make that process so inconvenient (waiting around for a technician between 8-5 for someone with a job is NOT feasible) and their inability to fix the problem becomes so apparent that it's just a huge waste of time. I don't even bother calling in to report it anymore because it's not worth sitting on hold forever just to get a 10 dollar credit or whatever totally lame compensation they try to offer.

If I didn't have a HUGE tree in front of my apartment balcony I would have switched to DirecTV or Dish long ago but since I do..I'm stuck with this pathetic excuse for a cable company. Their customer service is the worst and their quality of service is even worse than that.

The one positive thing I will say is that I have had fairly consistent Internet service. It's had a few problems from time to time but on the whole it's been pretty solid. I wish I could say the same for their god awful cable service. None of this even mentions the whole Longhorn Network debacle (maybe not their fault but wouldn't surprise me if it was), the KXAN debacle, and their lack of offering HBOGO that I can only assume they aren't offering because they haven't figured out how to use it to screw their customers.

TW does suck. I never get a straight answer. If I call with the same question more than once I get a different answert every time. I have been lied to so much by them that I don't trust anything they say. Complaining to the FCC won't help either. I tried that and got nothing, not even a response from either of them.
Digital boxes are constantly being "reprogrammed".
The service freezes every 10 minutes. I hope you really didn't want to hear that news story because it just froze in the middle of the story.
Every time I call with a problem they tell me its probably my fault. I spoke to one of their service people and he said. "its a bad, poorly developed system." He further said that I get lied to becasue they don't want people asking for refunds or calling FCC. We should cut the budget and just get rid of the FCC.
